Keep your home SIM installed
WhatsApp is tied to your phone number, not to which SIM supplies the internet. Your home SIM stays in the phone, the eSIM carries data.

Let the eSIM carry the data
With the StrongeSIM line selected for Mobile Data, every app, WhatsApp included, just uses it. Messages, calls, voice notes from your usual number.
Do not tap “change number” in WhatsApp while traveling. Nothing about a data eSIM requires it, and your group chats will thank you.

Turn off your home line's data roaming
To make surprise charges impossible, disable Data Roaming on the home SIM line. Calls and texts still arrive; the bills do not.
